Night Time Affirmations

Hi everyone!

In a previous post I talked about morning affirmations to start your day on a positive note, but how do you end your days?

Being positive is so important to live a better life, you attract good things and good people. So today I wanted to share a few mantras to end your day with positivity.

Before we go to sleep, we like to reflect on what happened during the day and wish we would have done something different. Most of the time this made me feel bad and, one bad thought led to another so I found myself in a spiral of negativity.

Recently, I decided to stop this and now I fall asleep faster and wake up better.

1. I did the best I could today. Nobody's perfect. Be proud of who you are and know that you tried your hardest.

2. I have a lot to smile about. There's something good in every day, start focusing on the good. It doesn't matter everything bad will leave your side, and it's not about ignoring it; it's about dealing with your problems with a positive mindset. You'll see the change!

3. I am grateful for the things I have. Let's be honest here, if you're reading this that means you have the internet. You have a bed to sleep on, you have more than others have. What if you woke up today with only the things you thanked for yesterday?

4. I love myself. If you don't love and respect yourself, nobody will. You accept the love you think you deserve.

5. I let all negative feelings fly away. Tell yourself this at night and you'll feel how powerful this is, let everything that no longer serves you go.

6.I am healthy and strong.

7. I believe in myself. Because if you don't then, who will?

8. I am at peace. There's no better feeling than to fall asleep feeling at peace. Tell yourself this every night.

I believe in animal rights. #GoVegan

I believe in aminal rights.

Just like yesterday, the post I had writen is going to have to wait...

Today I saw this article that talks about how a woman hung her dog on a wall and threw rocks or bricks at it until the poor animal died, apparently because the dog ate a chicken...

A few weeks ago I read on Instagram about 2 or 3 boys that filmed themselves running over a dog 10 times until he died.

Things like that make my heart ache, as an animal lover, a pet parent (yes I consider them my kids); I can't keep silent.

Things like that need to stop. This MUST END.

Animals are living creatures and have rights to live just as much as humans do, or even more. They have the purest souls, they do not harm other animals, or us humans, unless it is really necessary for their survival. They are loyal, they love you in the most unconditional way; yet all we do is hurt them.

Please sign every petition you see that helps fight animal abuse,  treat animals right and report those who are not treating them with the love and respect they deserve.

And, if you can, go vegan.

We can change the world together!

How to reduce stress

I had a different post written for today but it’s been a really stressful week, so I had to stop and think about everything I had to do to reduce stress; and I thought, why not share these with all of you?

You all know I like to be very positive (some say I’m way too positive, like there’s such a thing right?) but, let’s get real, life happens to all of us. Sometimes we are not in the best mood, we argue with people, we have a bad week at work or we have a different problem.

For me, this week was horrible so far, I’m in the middle of moving, I argued with my best friend and my aunt, I keep getting things to do at work ; and, today when I got from work, I found out my puppy decided to have a party while I was gone.

(Here's some proof of the party Aria had, it's a little blurry because I took it with my phone as soon as I got in the house to show a friend.)

I know a lot of people who would have gotten angry and, sadly, they would have hit the poor puppy, for example. Yes, sadly I know people like that personally.

But I love my baby and I would never do anything to hurt her (or animals for that matter), so instead I took a bath and relaxed before cleaning up the mess.
So here is everything I do to reduce stress and go back to my normal, happy mood.

1. Take a relaxing bath. As I mentioned before, this is what I did today to feel better. I took a really warm (people who know me would say steamy haha) bath and I listened to relaxing music. I know some people don’t like taking baths but it just helps me a lot.

2. Go for a walk. Something that really helps me when I’m stressed is to go for a walk, personally, I need to listen to music while I’m walking; if I don’t I just don’t relax.

3. Talk about it. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have anyone to talk to, just talk. Once I was going through a really bad break up and what I did was say everything I was feeling out loud for about 20 minutes. Don’t think I’m crazy for “talking to myself” haha. It was kind of like writing a diary. I acted like I was talking to the person and that was therapeutic. Since I did that, I do it every time I need to get something out of my mind.

4. Go out and have fun. You deserve to have some fun so just go out and forget the reason you’re stressed. Just like with everything else, the more you think about it, the more power you give to it.

5. Meditate. I’ve said it before; meditation has a lot of benefits. It is proven that even our brain changes when we have been meditating for a while. Clear your mind and you’ll be stress free.

6. Healthy habits. I’ll include in this one everything, get enough sleep, eat healthy, wake up early, exercise… having healthy habits is important to help our bodies cope with stress.

Motivational Monday: How to overcome fear.

Last week I talked about the fear of change, today I want to talk about how to overcome most of our fears.

Being completely honest with all of you, I am the most fearful person in the world, so take this post as a "let's do this together" kind of post.

We all let fear get in the way of our own happiness, I am fully aware that I've let a lot of opportunities go because I was "afraid" of the unknown, afraid of failure, or of rejection.
I realized most of the fears I have are actually excuses, negative thoughts that are over contemplated

I try not to be the kind of person that lives by the what-ifs, so I decided to put the focus on where it should be.

1. Get to know your fear. Think about what your fear is and how you have that fear. In psychology, there's this thing we call "The Confidence/Competence loop". It's a simple concept, without confidence, we give in to fear and we don't take any action. The more you understand something, the more confident you are. By getting to understand your fear, you can deal with it better.

2. Take a no-excuses approach. As I said before, some fears are excuses we repeat to ourselves so often, they sink in.  Remember: “if you really want something you’ll find a way, if not you’ll find an excuse”. Which one will it be?

3. Get real. Fears tend to be much more than reality. I always think of the worst case scenario and we don’t give ourselves time to get real. Most of the things we fear are unreasonable and rarely happen. Give yourself time to think things through and be more realistic before making a decision.

4. Expose yourself to the fear. Sometimes, by exposing yourself to your fears, we realize it wasn’t that bad. Be brave!

5. Ask for help. I always say this because it’s so true, you’re not alone! Whether it’s someone you know or a stranger, there’s always someone who will listen and, even share your fears. Ask for help and you’ll be surprised by the results.

6. Reward yourself. You exposed yourself to your biggest fear; you made the decision to overcome it. You deserve it!
