Como perdí 12 kilos en 2 meses

Hola a todos/as!

How I lost 12 kilos in 2 months

I told you guys in my life update that I lost 12 kilos in just 2 months. I honestly never thought it would be possible and I know that I would have lost many more if I had kept up with it.

As I told you in a number of occasions, I have hypothyroidsm, so I really didn't think I would lose weight "so easily".

What I did?

Well first of all I find a nutrition service online one day, it was total coincidence as I wasn't looking for anything like that but it caught my attention.

I did some research on them and it had really good reviews so I decided to give it a try.

I had to fill up a survey with all my information so they could give me a personalized diet and so I did.

To my surprise I had to eat a lot! I could eat as much as I'd please, of course of the things they'd allow.

I don't want to share a specific diet because I believe they work hard to make them and are 100% personalized. But it basically consisted of lean protein, frui and vegetables.

This service is called  Dietaris, this post is in no way affiliated or sponsored by them. I just simply tried them and loved them.

And I decided that today I'm signing up again to lose the weight I gained and maybe a little bit more!

I don't know if they offer their services in English but if you can, try them!

Two Summer snacks

Happy Sunday!

Since it's Sunday I wanted to bring you something different and I thought these two very easy recipes I made today would do it!

These "recipes" (to call it something) are obviously not mine but they're so good, refreshing and healthy that I thought you'd want to try them too.

Watermelon lemonade

This refreshing drink is perfect for the hot summer months. What you'll need to make it will be:

2 cups of seedless watermelon
The juice of one lemon
1 cup of ice
Sweetner of choice

Simply blend it all together and  voilà! You have the perfect drink for everyone!

Fruit Kebabs

An easy and fun way to eat the fruit you have in your kitchen and a fun way to serve it in a party.
All you need is as much fruit as you want!

Why I quit blogging

Some of you may not know but I started my blog in 2014, however I stopped blogging for more than a year.

I wrote about one of the reasons I stopped in my life update post, but that's only part of the reason.

When most bloggers start blogging, they do it, we do it because we love writing, we think we have a platform where we can do so, and potentially find people interested in what we have to say.

All that sounds great but, then why did I quit?

In all honesty, I felt discouraged. I started blogging not only to find people who would love reading my “articles” but because I wanted to earn money with it. Don't get me wrong there's nothing wrong with wanting to get paid for blogging, after all it takes a lot of work (and I'm obviously still trying to monetize my blog). But I found myself focusing too much on numbers.

I started checking every few minutes to see if the numbers increased, I kept checking adsense to see if the money increased. And for a moment it did, and it felt good but then I realized...

People are not reading because they love what I talk about, who sees my blog in reality? Who reads my words?

I'll tell you who, other bloggers, but how many of them actually read everything? Very few...

So to whoever sees this, whoever reads this... If you feel like this too, if you feel like your effort isn't bringing you anything, leave a comment down below.

And to those of you who know how to reach your audience, please help all the one's looking for help too.

How did you let yourself get so fat!

A few days ago I went back to my hometown and met a friend from when I was younger and, believe it or not, this was the first thing he said to me: "wow you're so much bigger, how did you let yourself get so fat?"

I must admit I let that get to me, I felt very insecure already and then someone who was supposedly my friend said that?

As the day went by I found myself feeling more and more down and just plain worse. But then I started getting angry. Not at him for saying that but at myself for "letting myself get this fat".

Let me take you down memory lane before I tell you how.

As I have stated before in previous posts, I had an eating disorder when I was younger. I was never "fat" but I definitely thought I was. (Okay let me take a deep breath before I show you these embarrassing pictures of my younger self).

This pictures are before my eating disorder. I don't feel comfortable showing the pictures where I was sick because they're painful to watch and sadly, they might be triggering...

Now I have gained more than 20 kilos, but how?

First of all I never had healthy habits to begin with. Where I lived we always ate fried things or takeaway. I was lucky I had a fast metabolism. So when I started living on my own I didn't know what healthy eating was, I continued eating the way I had been taught.

I wouldn't put on any weight anyways, however something happened. My clothes started to shrink, or that's what I'd tell myself. I looked bigger but I didn't want to see it, I was in denial. Until one day, for some reason I went to the pharmacy on my way home from work and decided to check my weight. I was shocked! I had put on so many kilos! So of course I went home and didn't leave my room until the next day, I couldn't stop crying.

I decided to start a diet the next morning, but to my surprise I kept gaining weight. I, then, decided to get a blood test and I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. In that moment I didn't know what it meant, I had never heard of it to be honest. I was given medicine and I never took them.

I kept trying to lose weight for years and never took the medicine I was supposed to take, until I told my best friend, who had the same problem as me.

She scared me to death! So recently I took it serious. I researched about it and now I am taking the medicine. I found a nutritionist who really helped (I tried a few but they didn't help with my thyroid problem). She helped me lose 12 kilos in just a few months (but that's a whole different post!)

So that's how I gained so much weight, I ate bad, I didn't exercise and I had a health problem.

If any of this sounds like you, get checked and do your research! Don't rely on just one person's opinion or "knowledge".

As for my friend, no one should ask something like that, or comment on anyone's weight gain or loss, but again I'll leave that for another post.

Until then, take care of yourself!

Life Update

Hello everyone!

As you may know, I started this blog as a way to keep motivated to lose weight, but that didn't happen. Instead I found a passion for writing and giving advice on how to improve your life in other ways... not everything has to be about weight am I right?

Somewhere along the way I felt unmotivated, I lost my creativity and I felt discouraged by life problems that didn't have anything to do with me, but that I had made mine.

However, I felt something missing, and I took some time offline to find myself again. I even deleted Facebook!

It's been a long time and I feel like I need to learn to blog again but I thought to begin with a little life update.

Las year I got married!

Other things have happened during this time but they have more to do with my sister than with y own life; so I don't feel right talking about it.

As I said earlier, I started this blog to help me lose weight but I found that harder than I expected. However, last year, and in preparation to my wedding, I lost 12 kilos!

I'm still in the process since I gained a little bit of that weight back but it's Monday and I decided today is the day!

I can't wait to share the results with you and for you guys to follow along.

I never thought I'd be able to lose so much weight, but I did. And if I can, you can too!
